My first Adobe Illustrator assignment

This was the first image I did for my Adobe Illustrator class. The assignment was to draw our mothers so here is mine!

When I first began working on this I had no idea about what setting I wanted to place my mom in. I decided to put a cigarette in her hand although she doesn't smoke. I chose to do this because my mom has many evils and I find it odd that she has yet to pick up smoking so I was curious to see what that would look like. Now, for the background I was considering drawing my dad behind her crying (since he never does I thought that would be funny to see) but since this is my first time using illustrator, I didn't feel I had the ability to produce such a thing. Thus, I made the cigarette smoke coming from my mom depicting all her evils. This includes a slight pill addiction (hence the pills in the smoke), the coors lite, accordingly, as she does love to drink, a TV which I feel is an evil because she can be using her time more productively, and lastly I put calendar rip-off dates implying that she's an everyday 9-5er which entails her life is run by "work,eat,sleep". Kinda depressing.

PS: i did not show her this drawing, it would of broke her lil' heart :( .....(shame on me)

Who am I?

My name is Vincent Chelli. I strive for success.. I crave it, and once it is achieved I pride myself on it. If I we're an animal in a past life, I would've been a lion because I take pride in everything I do. They say that pride comes before the fall, but who said I'll fall?

Okay, I may seem overly-confident from that first paragraph, but if I didn't have confidence then success would be hard to come by. I've been playing drums for 5 years now and decided I want to to go to music school for performance. I just recently started jazz drumming which has proven difficult but once again I'm so proud of what I've accomplished so far. My main goal is to compose and touch listeners so deeply that it somehow impacts their lives. This may take years to accomplish but I'm ready for anything.

I'll always feel remorse cause I'm not choosing a different form of art to express my feelings like painting or drawing, but maybe I could go to school for that too! I know my future has A LOT in store for me. I swear. Look out for me ladies and gents!

The boring stuff... I'm a 20 year old college student. I work when I'm not at school, and when I'm not doing that I'm involved with music. I am terribly introverted.

There is a software you download from last.fm called a scrobbler which registers everything you listen to via youre default media player, and then puts it on the internet for all to see. Then the site gives you similar artists that you may like, or you can visit other listener's pages and see what they listen to the most.
